Virgin Media broadband down in parts of London, leaving users without internet

Virgin Media users across London are reporting they have been left without internet after an outage in the capital.

Thousands of Londoners said they had no connection this morning, with outage maps showing large parts of the city affected.

Many have been left unable to do their jobs, with the government still encouraging people to work from home where possible due to coronavirus.

Tweeting her frustration, one woman wrote: “When there’s a major outage at Virgin Media and all you can do is sit and wait as your time-sensitive work slowly burns.”

Someone else posted: “Hi @richardbranson. Can you please fix this. None of us can currently do our jobs. Kind regards, Every Virgin Media Customer.”

Several people also claimed that they were unable to get through to customer services to report the issue.

A Virgin Media spokesman told Sky News: “We’re aware that some customers in parts of London are experiencing an issue with their broadband. We are working as quickly as possible to restore services and apologise to those affected.”

The problem is affecting London only and there is not a national outage, they added.
